Bell City Council Candidates Forum Scheduled
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is being released by the California Community Foundation:
WHAT: City of Bell residents will have their last opportunity to see and hear openly from the candidates running in the City Council election in March, at a public forum sponsored by the nonprofit California Community Foundation, with California State Assemblymember Ricardo Lara and the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, and moderated by Univision 34.
WHY: The purpose of this historic event is to provide voters and all members of the Bell community with a final opportunity to see and hear directly from candidates – in English and Spanish, and is an important step in rebuilding democracy, trust in government and civic engagement in Bell.
Format: each candidate will have 5 minutes to speak, including answering questions from Bell residents drawn at random. Not a debate.
A special DVD in English and Spanish, "Voter Video Guide", featuring all candidates, will be made available free to everyone who attends.
